Policy Description and Purpose: Managing patient care involves a team of clinical and nonclinical staff interacting with patients and working to achieve patient-centered care. Job Title MMC Advanced Practice Provider Walk-In Clinic
Job Description
The provider will provide competent, evidence-based medical care by interviewing, examining and treating patients in the fast-paced walk-in clinic.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in the walk clinic and takes place during regular office hours, extended hours, weekends, and holidays. There is possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, bodily fluids, and other conditions common to medical practice. Varied activities including walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and stooping.

Job Responsibilities
• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program with an active license to practice in the state.
• Provides competent, evidence-based medical care by interviewing, examining, and treating patients.
• Independently diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illness and injuries for walk in patients of ages 6 months and above.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work.
• Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate.
• Document detailed patient encounters in electronic medical records in a timely manner.
• Effectively collaborate with nursing staff and other providers to deliver quality care.
• Educate patients on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques.
• See up to 4-6 patients per hour.
• Other duties as assigned

PRN Requirements
• 2 shifts per month must be available, 1 being a weekend.
• You must work one holiday per year.

WEEKEND OPTION
• MUST WORK FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY
• WILL ONLY WORK HOLIDAYS THAT FALL ON THOSE SHIFTS

Education/Experience Requirements
-Awarded an appropriate Advanced Practice Degree from an accredited school with licensure to practice in the state of Tennessee
