Cybersecurity Project Manager

About the role
Avint LLC is seeking a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Cybersecurity Project Manager (CPM) to join our team in Herndon, VA.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Hands-on and required to work closely with operations leads, other CPMs, PMO Analysts, team leads and CDM partners
- Using soft skills, coordinate across technical and program teams to meet deadlines, fulfill contract requirements, and support DHS mission objectives
- Understand and demonstrate the purpose of the CDM DEFEND program
- Familiarity with Asset Management, Identity and Access Management, Vulnerability Management, and Configuration Management principles
- Experience with evolving requirements and implementation strategies (e.g. Binding Operational Directives)
- Demonstrate understanding of Zero Trust Principles
- Review schedule activities, status and results with PM, DPM, Operations Lead and other CPMs as required
- Implement baseline changes of the assigned agency into the DEFEND IMS by collaborating with applicable stakeholders
- Identify, develop and implement processes improving scheduling and coordination efforts in delivering the services associated with the associated tasks for the assigned group or agency
- Recommend systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
- Recommend and implement programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures
- Participate in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies
- Ensure the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services
Technical Areas of Expertise:
- Knowledge and experience in quality analysis.
- Understanding of critical path analysis of schedules.
- Outstanding reporting skills, e.g., graphical presentation and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- 8-10 years of experience in creating and managing projects with resource loaded schedules, Gantt charts and dependencies.
- Facilitation of solution(s) alignment across multiple DHS components, DHS HQ, and DEFEND A team(s) resulting in more efficient delivery of CDM capabilities.
- Ability to leverage tool implementation successes from across DHS to increase CDM value with components.
- Ability to utilize & understand DHS CDM Dashboard data and assist components in identifying, mitigating, and reporting data accuracy and gaps, in order to align with CDM PMO expectations.
- Responsible for conducting regular cadences and ad-hoc meetings with DHS and Components to enhance collaboration, optimize investments, and improve CDM performance.
- Identifies and tracks programmatic risks and issues leading to increased visibility across the program and additional resources dedicated to resolution.
- Provides support to multiple components’ strategic goals through procurement optimization, reducing DHS/component budget expenditures, and annually facilitates component IT Roadmap implementations.
- Actively engages in DEFEND A capabilities and POCs to ensure thorough understanding of the component operating environment and leading to efficient tool rollouts.
Qualifications:
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
- DHS EOD Preferred
- BA/BS with 7 years of relevant experience
- PMP and CISSP Desired
- Serves as Career Manager responsible for performance management and professional development of lower levels.
- Proactively leads teams in the execution of complex tasks with minimal direction and produces high quality results.
