About the role

Position Overview

The Associate Vice President, Athletics Business Strategy & Analytics, serves as a senior leader responsible for driving revenue growth and data infrastructure across USF Athletics.  This role oversees the integration of business strategy, CRM systems, analytics, AI-driven engagement, and fan data architecture, ensuring alignment across all revenue-generating units, including ticket sales, premium seating, and corporate partnerships.

The AVP operates as:

  • A key member of the Athletics business leadership team
  • A leader in the development of data-informed strategies to maximize revenue across ticketing, sponsorship, retail, and other consumer-driven business lines.
  • A primary advisor to the Chief Business Officer on revenue strategy and business intelligence
  • The owner of fan data, CRM, and revenue optimization strategy across all revenue verticals
  • A leader, mentor, and developer of a high-performing team of analysts and managers

Core Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Revenue Strategy 
  • Assist in the development of the department-wide revenue strategy across all sports and revenue-generating units
  • Serve as a senior advisor to the Chief Business Officer on revenue forecasting and growth initiatives
  • Lead long-range planning tied to attendance, premium, donor, retail, and corporate partnership revenue

 

Fan Data Strategy 

  • Define and lead fan data strategy, including a unified Customer Data Platform
  • Integrate data across ticketing, CRM, digital, and partnerships
  • Create a single view of the fan to drive personalization, pricing, and sponsorship value
  • Enable real-time data activation across all channels

 

Oversight of Strategy, CRM & Analytics

  • Oversee CRM strategy, analytics, and BI functions
  • Establish KPIs and performance frameworks
  • Lead predictive modeling and dashboards
  • Drive data-informed culture
  • Analyze trends and inform strategy
  • Support pricing, packaging, and sponsorship positioning
  • Pricing Strategy & Demand Optimization

 

In coordination with AVP, Ticketing, lead pricing strategy, including individual and secondary market pricing and forecasting

  • Optimize revenue, attendance, and lifetime value
  • Evaluate and refine go-to-market strategies across primary and secondary ticket channels
  • Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorship Analytics
  • Support partnerships with data-driven insights
  • Enable targeted activation and ROI measurement

 

AI & Automation Strategy

  • Oversee AI tools such as Conversica
  • Drive engagement, conversion, and lifecycle marketing

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in strategy, analytics, CRM, or revenue roles
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience with CRM, ticketing, and BI tools
  • Strong leadership and executive communication skills

 

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.

• SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
• A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
• (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
• (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
• (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
