A Day in the Life

At Medtronic we use our engineering skills to improve and extend the lives of patients every day. We have a great opportunity for an experienced ASIC / FPGA Digital Design Engineer to develop Medtronic's next generation of Cardiac Rhythm Management products.

Digital design engineers at Medtronic get the opportunity to wear many hats: from writing RTL designs, supporting testbench and test case verification, to supporting hardware testing in the lab.

Roles and Responsibilities may include the following - other duties may be assigned:

  • Support Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Management portfolio of diagnostic, pacing, and defibrillation products

  • Works with architect and systems engineers to define and document requirements for the next IC iteration

  • Modify or develop new RTL files using System Verilog

  • Develop block level testbench and tests to simulate identified changes

  • Develop system level constrained random testcases using System Verilog to achieve coverage metrics

  • Work with physical designer to create block level constraints

  • Develop and execute characterization level testing on the hardware using python or other lab scripting languages

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications.

  • Determines design approaches and parameters.

  • Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.

  • Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.

  • May also review vendor capability to support product development.

We are working onsite a minimum of 4 days per week as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.
Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant IC Design experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant IC Design experience OR a PhD with 3 years relevant experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$135,200.00 - $202,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
