Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist

The Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating workflow and services related to pharmaceutical inventory and supplies. Ensuring inventory management through perpetual inventory software while working closely with the Pharmacy Directory to address medication procurement and product changes in the electronic medical record. Will also collaborate with outpatient infusion services to manage the procurement and delivery of medication for patients.

o Schedule: Full time, Day Shift 8-4:30 and then ~every 4th Sunday for an 1.5 hours

o Location: Springfield, IL

Education Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED or pharmacy technician training program) is required. Graduate of pharmacy technician program is preferred.
• Associate’s in business, IT or related field is preferred.

Experience Qualifications

• 4 years pharmacy experience or 4 years of combined pharmacy and purchasing experience with at least 2 years of pharmacy experience is required.
• 3 years’ experience in purchasing, ordering supplies or inventory is preferred.
• Experience with pharmacy inventory software and inventory analytics is preferred.
• Understanding of Group Purchasing Organization contract compliance is preferred.
• Experience with Epic Willow Inpatient is preferred. Experience with automated dispensing cabinets is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

• Pharmacy Technician license in Illinois is required within 60 days from hire date.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification is required.
