The Security & Infrastructure Engineering Manager is responsible for the implementation, operational support and security of the USO's infrastructure environment, which includes on-premise network, Microsoft Azure and Office 365 Cloud tenant. This individual managers a Cyber Security Analyst and a Systems Administrator.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)

  • Plan, build and maintain the USO’s systems infrastructure, including but not limited to, implementing and maintaining the organization’s Microsoft Azure and Office 365 environments and maintenance with other Software as a Service solutions.*
  • Monitor performance of hosted and cloud systems. Ensure services, including but not limited to, daily server administration, monitoring and managing data backups, and monitoring and tuning server-based applications meet established expectations – securing the organization’s systems and data with 24/7 access and availability.*
  • Evaluate new and existing technologies to improve the management, security, and performance of USO networks. Identify strategic and tactical opportunities and solutions and make improvements recommendations for identified business needs.*
  • Serve as project manager and primary technical subject matter expert to internal staff, and external vendors and contractors, related to the installation, maintenance, security and support of computer systems and networks.*
  • Provide support for escalated Help Desk support requests.
  • Lead, manage and mentor cyber security and infrastructure direct report(s).

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. MCSE, CSEP, CISM and/or CISSP preferred.
  • 5+ years progressively responsible work experience implementing and managing local-area and wide-area networks in Office 365 and Azure environments. Relevant experience in a not-for-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred. 1+ years work experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Advanced knowledge of information technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams. Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism. Ability to manage and influence external vendor relationships.
  • Willingness and ability to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
  • Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
  • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform basic business/accounting functions including project management and budget reconciliation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver’s license.
