 The Engineering Project Assistant will join the Networks and Connectivity Engineering (NCE) team within our Connected Aviation Solutions business unit. This team supports the core aviation datalink service which provides air/ground data communications for airlines and business aviation, enabling the exchange of information from airborne subsystems to ground-based computers anywhere in the world.  This is done by using VHF, HF, and satellite-based radio links and a private global network.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining hardware inventory and software licenses; tracking engineering procurement activity and generating purchase requisitions; generating and analyzing engineering financial reports; conducting process audits to help ensure engineering compliance to CMMI Level 3 or Agile practices; organizing engineering events and recording meeting agendas, minutes, and action items; developing engineering templates in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

What You Will Do:

• You will initiate and track hardware and software procurement using corporate financial systems.
• You will generate financial reports and provide preliminary analysis for engineering managers.  
• You will conduct process audits to help ensure engineering compliance to CMMI Level 3.    
• You will facilitate engineering’s periodic reporting meetings including recording meeting minutes.
• You will work onsite 3 days a week in our Annapolis, MD site

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field at minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
•  Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and engineering tools for ticketing, configuration management and requirements development
• Experience working directly with engineers and engineering managers with attention to process.
