The Material Requirements Planning Control Analyst 3 is responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing the efficient movement of materials from receiving, warehouse, and suppliers through production in support of program and business objectives. This position ensures material availability, maintains system accuracy, and supports production execution through detailed analysis, cross-functional coordination, and proactive issue resolution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, schedule, and manage the flow of materials from suppliers, receiving, warehouse, and internal operations to support production and delivery requirements.
- Develop and maintain raw material and production scheduling requirements based on engineering data, bills of material, demand signals, and production schedules.
- Analyze material requirements, shortages, excess, and supply risks, and take appropriate action to support on-time execution.
- Use MRP/ERP systems to create, review, and manage demand, supply, inventory positions, and order actions.
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, receiving, quality, engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to resolve material and schedule issues.
- Monitor purchase requisitions, purchase orders, deliveries, and inventory transactions to ensure alignment with program requirements.
- Lead or support supplier coordination related to delivery status, material availability, schedule recovery, and risk mitigation.
- Review and validate engineering or planning changes for impact to material requirements, stocking positions, and production schedules.
- Maintain accurate system data to support planning, auditability, and reporting requirements.
- Identify and resolve planning, inventory, and material flow issues using established procedures, policies, and sound judgment.
- Support material status reviews, shortage meetings, production readiness reviews, and program execution meetings.
- Develop reports, metrics, and analysis related to shortages, aging requirements, inventory, and schedule performance.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen material planning efficiency, system accuracy, and execution performance.
- Represent the organization as a key point of contact on material planning matters requiring coordination across multiple functions.
- May provide guidance, training, or informal leadership to less experienced planners or analysts.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience in material planning, production control, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or a related field; or a Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience; or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in material requirements planning, production planning, inventory control, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems to manage material demand, supply, and planning actions.
- Experience analyzing material shortages, scheduling requirements, and supply-related issues.
- Experience working cross-functionally with teams such as procurement, engineering, manufacturing, warehouse, and quality.
- Ability to solve a variety of moderately complex to complex problems using analysis, judgment, and established processes.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and manage schedules in support of organizational objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across organizations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain any required clearance or access, if applicable.
