The Senior AML Financial Crime Risk Specialist role leads the development of enterprise programs including frameworks, policies, standards and development of procedures, awareness and specialized training, monitoring, reporting and escalation of issues and events. This role leads the development, and advises on the activities required to support the function. This role also provides domain subject matter expertise in specialized functions to ensure integrity of oversight and control, escalate as required within mandate. Additionally, this role conducts regular reviews to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of controls, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulations and identifying areas for improvement.
The Financial Crimes Risk Management Policy and Standards Team is responsible for the establishment and ongoing oversight of an effective Financial Crimes Risk Management Program for TD Bank US Holdings. The Policy and Standards Team is tasked with setting consistent requirements for the bank to prevent, detect, and report financial crimes risk and evaluate the risks associated with a customer relationship throughout the customer lifecycle.
The primary responsibility of the Financial Crimes Risk Management Policy Team is to set and maintain the requirements for the US Financial Crimes Risk Management Program and develop and maintain the governing policies and standards for compliance with US regulations. The team provides ongoing advisement around BSA/AML and KYC requirements and works with cross-functional units (Compliance, Technology, Business, Audit) to support and help execute AML and KYC-related projects. Individuals within this team will be called upon to participate in discussions to shape the most efficient processes for the Program based on regulatory requirements. The team is also responsible for establishing the governance, reporting, and monitoring routines necessary to adequately oversee the firm's ongoing adherence to BSA/AML, Sanctions, and KYC Policies and Standards.

- Recognized as top level expert within the function and requires significant in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in their own field and knowledge of broader related areas
- Senior specialist providing advisory services to executives, business segment leaders and governs the requirements for own work
- Integrates knowledge of the functions overarching strategy in leading program design, policy formulation or operating standards within one or more areas of expertise
- Anticipates emerging business trends and regulatory/ risk issues as a basis for recommending large-scale product, technical, functional or operations improvements
- Serves as a source of expert advice to senior management in field of specialty
- Advises on execution of strategy and leads the development and deployment of functional programs or initiatives within their own field or across multiple specialties
- Solves unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact; typically oversees standards, controls and operating methods that have significant financial and operational impact
