Commercial Maintenance Technician

Description

The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Regional Director within the Commercial Management Group. The Oldham Goodwin Facilities & Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the assigned commercial properties.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· A Maintenance Technician will inspection the properties, equipment, and systems for any issues. They will also perform general maintenance of the facility and grounds.

· Perform routine maintenance around the properties. 

· Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

· Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems

· Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician

· Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds

· Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods

· Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools

· Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices

· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills

REQUIREMENTS:

· Highly motivated, responsible, and professional individual with an ability to work both within a team, as well as with tenants.

· Have the ability to learn new concepts quickly and thoroughly.

· Have an understanding of HVAC systems (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and other mechanical systems. HVAC Certified preferred.

· Have the ability to change light bulbs and ballasts.

· Have the ability to perform simple plumbing repairs.

· Have a basic ability to tape, blend and paint walls, corners and ceilings.

· Have the willingness to aid in the upkeep of the cleanliness of all properties.

· Have the willingness to provide porter services to the properties, as needed.

· Open to working in other Divisions as necessary.

· Respond to maintenance requests in a quick and timely manner, completing work with a high quality that will satisfy our clients.

· Complete preventive maintenance duties promptly and stay on schedule while also completing regular maintenance requests.

· Complete any other related task given by manager.

· Ability to work within a team to accomplish ongoing tasks and goals.
