About the Role:

The Backend Services team ensures the reliability, scalability, usability and security of our customers' workloads. This team is responsible for the services, processes and tooling that enable this turn key scaling solution across multiple clouds. Members of this team will combine software development patterns with the operational knowhow to own the entire lifecycle of the service such as CI/CD, orchestration, scaling, progressive rollouts and SRE fundamentals.

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Media and Entertainment Backend Services Team, focusing on creating and owning API services that enable multi-cloud batch workloads. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, development, troubleshooting and optimization of kubernetes based services. You will need to have experience with deploying infrastructure and managed services in different cloud environments. As a member of the Backend Services Team, you would have the opportunity to:

  • Build upon the services that enable multi-cloud batch workloads. Optimize for different verticals VFX, HPC and AI.
  • Help further our expansion to an event driven architecture by writing new real-time services with ServerSentEvents, Websockets, and HTTP2/3 streaming.
  • Improve our observability and overall resiliency with insights on the performance of our services and workflows.
  • Contribute to the architectural design of the platform, while writing well designed, testable and efficient code.

  • 5+ years software development experience with relevant technologies.
  • Primary languages using Python and Golang.
  • Familiarity with AWS, CoreWeave, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with relational, document, and time series databases.
  • Experience working with container orchestrators such as Kubernetes, ECS or Nomad.
  • Experience with OpenAPI, Protocol Buffers or other code generation tooling.
  • Familiarity with event driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with durable execution concepts from the likes of Temporal, Cadence, DTFx.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into smaller pieces, provide options/trade-offs and drive the effort to solve the problem.
  • Proven experience in customer-facing product development, with a strong emphasis on considering end-user interactions and experience throughout the development process.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate within cross-functional teams.
  • Broad technical software and/or systems experience coupled with interest in growing skills and gaining experience depth at a growing startup.
  • You appreciate transparency and promote trust and empowerment through open access to information

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $170,000-$200,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Hybrid Workplace

Successful candidates will be expected to attend onboarding training at our NJ Headquarters within their first several weeks of employment, with subsequent quarterly travel requirements of 1 week duration.
