PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Salary to be commensurate with experience
The hiring range for this position is $137,651 - $172,064/annually

OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
The Director of General Management plans, coordinates, administers and directs the operations for a diverse range of divisions and functions, including Fleet, Intergovernmental Relations, Physical Security, Office of International & Immigrant Affairs, City Clerk’s Office, and Special Projects & Strategic Planning. The Director is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, strategic alignment, and the effective management of resources across these critical areas, contributing to the city's overall vision and goals. The position provides the highest levels of customer service by fostering positive relationships with internal and external customers and city leadership.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and oversee the strategic planning and execution of activities within Fleet, Intergovernmental Relations, Physical Security, Office of International & Immigrant Affairs, City Clerk’s Office, and Special Projects & Strategic Planning. Manages department functions by ensuring division responsibilities are carried out effectively, efficiently, and timely.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations across all managed divisions.
Collaboratively establishes short and long-range departmental priorities, goals, and objectives.
Establishes and guides short, mid, and long-range financial plans and strategies including preparation and effective management of department budget.
Foster intergovernmental relationships and manage affairs with local, state, and federal government entities.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across all departments.
Direct the strategic planning process and manage special projects to support the city's goals and initiatives.
Champion the city's commitment to immigrant and international affairs.
Oversee the functions of the City Clerk’s office to include special and regular elections.
