Senior Web Application Security Engineer

What does a successful Senior Web Application Security Engineer do at Fiserv?

In this role, you will deploy WebInspect and other DAST services to identify web application security vulnerabilities and provide remediation support to development teams globally. This role is crucial for maintaining the security and integrity of web applications and ensuring they are safe for use by our clients and customers.

What you will do:

• Deploy and upgrade ScanCentral DAST and WebInspect to allow development teams to run regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities
• Monitor and manage vulnerabilities discovered through WebInspect, including tracking and prioritizing remediation efforts
• Perform secure code reviews to ensure that web application code adheres to security best practices
• Respond to security incidents involving web applications, leveraging WebInspect for threat analysis and mitigation
• Work closely with development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) using insights from WebInspect
• Develop and maintain security tools and scripts to automate security processes, integrating with WebInspect
• Educate and train developers and other stakeholders on security best practices and the secure use of web applications, using WebInspect’s reporting features

What you will need to have:

• 6+ years of experience working in an enterprise IT environment in a cyber security capacity
• 6+ years of using WebInspect or a similar DAST platform for web application security testing and vulnerability management
• Must meet requirements to obtain and maintain 2C and 6C government clearance
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience
   

What would be great to have:

• Strong understanding of security principles, cryptography, and secure coding practices.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Familiarity with web application security principals and common vulnerabilities inkling OWASP Top Ten
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• CISSP or CEH certification
