About The Role

SecurityScorecard is looking to hire a Senior Director, Data Strategy and Insights to lead our Business Intelligence (BI) team. As a key business partner to the company’s leadership team, the Sr. Director of Business Data Strategy and Insights is responsible for the strategy and team’s execution of all data management and insight initiatives. This role is responsible for designing the architecture and processes that provide actionable insights and create greater business value. 

The Senior Director, Data Strategy is a trusted advisor to SSC’s senior leadership team and is accountable for managing the company’s data information as a corporate asset. The role will deliver business insights that improve decision making, drive results across the company, and generate incremental business value and new opportunities through digital innovation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, build and drive overall strategy, methodology, and roadmap for the processes, systems, tools, and technologies required to harvest, produce, synthesize and maintain our core data assets.
  • Set a long term vision for the data function and develop and execute successful data roadmaps alongside functional roadmaps in partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Build insights at scale - elevating our foundational data systems and analytics to allow for faster, better, and more systematic insights moving away from adhoc questions and insight (tracking and reporting) to change how we operate as a high growth company.  
  • Drive towards action to create an outcomes oriented culture. Fewer order takers and more leadership insights provided. 
  • Lead, support, and develop a team of business insight analysts and data scientists. The team is responsible for: leading, designing, and refining SecurityScorecard’s data management and insight, and infrastructure capabilities. 
  • Manage and prioritize inbound requests and turn them into clearly defined projects for the team, with well-defined parameters and deliverables to ensure the team’s efforts are spent in the most value-added areas. 
  • Develop relationships and collaborate with various internal customers to develop analyses that lead to actionable insights, lead discussions, and advance our understanding, focus and speed.
  • Identify opportunities to monetize/commercialize data (analytics-as-a-service) by leveraging existing enterprise data and information in the company’s products and services. 
  • Generate and monitor strategic measures of success and ensure the consistent reporting of key performance indicators to internal and external stakeholders;  

Qualifications

  • 8+ years leading data-teams in fast paced, high growth SaaS companies 
  • 5+ years experience as a technical expert in engineering, data science, data analytics, business analysis, or business intelligence  
  • Proven expertise in building high impact data functions that operate with streamlined processes at scale and build strong cross-functional partnerships.
  • Strong business acumen and proven ability to analyze and develop insights that drive change and specific outcomes
  • Experience designing dashboards and reports in data visualization platforms (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Sisense). Tableau experience is a plus.
