Currently, ManTech is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Highly skilled and knowledgeable Data Engineer to support the A3W Weather Community. This position plays a pivotal role within the Data Center of Excellence development team, focusing on critical cloud migration efforts. The successful candidate will possess expertise in database concepts and operations, along with a deep understanding of geoscience data sets and movement of data across platforms. The position is remote with the possibility of occasional client site travel that will differ from engagement to engagement, expected to be 25% or less.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with Product Owners to support digital transformation and cloud migration efforts.
- Assess data pipeline designs against requirements to identify gaps and suggest remediations.
- Provide expertise in cloud-based database tools design and operations to optimize data management processes.
- Assess compliance with data requirements, formats, sharing agreements, and DoD data policies.
- Support data archival needs and facilitate data modification/transformation as required.
- Manage data libraries and oversee data flows to ensure efficient and secure data management practices.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand and address data service requirements effectively.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years’ total technical work experience.
- 8+ years’ experience data management including unstructured data.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- AWS certification
- Experience with geoscience data.
- Experience working for a consulting firm.
- Certification in a data specialty (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional).
- Experience with cloud migration projects and related technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Familiarity with Agile tools and methodologies and experience working in Agile development teams (Jira, Confluence).
Security Clearance Requirements:
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain up to a secret level clearance.
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
