2nd Shift Lab Technician (Pre production)

Dr. Tavel Optical Group is looking for a 2nd Shift Lab Technician responsible for conducting various technical aspects of eyewear manufacturing in a fast-paced environment. As a family-owned business with over 80 years of experience, Dr. Tavel provides top quality and affordable eye health services to Indiana families and businesses while delivering outstanding customer service.

As a 2nd Shift Lab Technician, you will work in the manufacturing lab, responsible for matching lenses and frames before production. Attention to detail, accuracy, and speed are crucial in fulfilling our customers' orders while ensuring quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-quality standards while demonstrating an ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet daily production goals
• Recognize and complies with safety procedures and guidelines in a manufacturing environment, including maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lab area, equipment, and tools.
• Accurately record production data in a timely and legible manner.
• Proactively remain knowledgeable of the latest technology and techniques to improve performance and quality of eyewear manufacturing.
• Communicate effectively across laboratory departments and teams to ensure well-coordinated workflow.
• Maintain flexibility in meeting changing customer needs or workflow demands.
• Matching frames and lenses together before met in production line.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
• 1+ years of experience in an optical manufacturing facility preferred.
• Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Proficiency with computers and software systems.
• Solid communication skills within the laboratory and leadership team.
• Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
