Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high-quality, person-centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Team Leader to lead an effective and high functioning team of Case Managers within the Murrumbidgee Homelessness Service.
Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a permanent, part-time (34.2 hours, 9 days a fortnight) position based Leeton, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Crisis 3 Award.
You will successfully
Support the implementation of the Homelessness Stream Model of Care that underpins services across the country and defines expectations and standards for those we serve, our partners and allies, and the Australian community.
Supervise and participate in case management, ensuring service is delivered according to person-centred and trauma informed principals.
Offer appropriate and high-quality support to people through a case management framework including relationship building, development of community support, advocacy/upholding of client rights and the development & review of case plans.
Provide specialist expertise to workers to resolve complex case management issues, deal with escalations and complaints.
Develop the capability of the team through coaching, training and reflective practice.
You will have
A degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service, and study/development.
A current NSW Working With Children Check.
A valid NSW Driver's Licence.
2+ years relevant case management experience in a social services setting working with disadvantaged and/ or complex needs clients.
Relevant experience in leading teams, coaching & supervising staff (preferred).
A commitment to trauma informed practice.
An understanding of issues faced by people experiencing homelessness.
Experience working in collaboration with other organisations to meet program objectives and client needs.
