Web Foundation Product Design Intern: DC - Fall 2024

Your New Role
This internship will be located in the NYC area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.
Your Role Accountabilities
As a Product Design intern, you are a member of the world-class CNN Digital Product Design Team, which is responsible for creating industry-leading user experiences that engage millions across the globe.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, editors, and data scientists to support the building and growth of CNN Digital’s product experiences.
Support the Web Foundations Product Design team across all phases of the design process, from conception to implementation, including wireframing, prototyping, and visual design on our homepage, section, and article responsive web templates.
Leverage our robust design system, Vossi, and utilize the latest capabilities in Figma to streamline our processes at all phases of the design lifecycle.
Support the planning and execution of user research and gathering of qualitative data to help build hypothesis & design recommendations.
Partner & collaborate with internal stakeholders and product design leads to support product goals and company objectives.
Proactively seek thoughtful solutions to design problems through individual discussions, recurring design reviews, and peer jam sessions.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong understanding of Figma, including understanding of the concept of components, interactive components, variables, prototypes, and asset libraries.
Keen interest in news media user experiences across the digital landscape.
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)
Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above cumulative GPA)
