ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION - The Electrical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California (Cal Poly) is excited to invite applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank beginning Fall 2025.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in undergraduate teaching, a broad base of knowledge and teaching interests, and the ability to integrate that knowledge across the electrical engineering curriculum. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to project-based and hands-on learning and engaging in research collaborations with undergraduates and master’s students.
Candidates with demonstrated experience in any of the following technical areas are encouraged to apply:
- Electronic Design (analog, digital, and/or mixed signal)
- Sensor/Actuation Systems including WSNs
- Digital Signal Processing with High-Performance Hardware
- Standards-based Systems Design and Project Management
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: (a) teaching undergraduate classes and laboratories in electrical engineering in general as well as graduate courses in an area of specialization. The ability to teach courses in more than one sub-specialty is preferred; (b) supervising undergraduate and graduate-level research; (c) developing and maintaining externally-funded research programs; (d) collaborating with other faculty on curricular, research and professional development interests; (e) engaging in activities related to service in the form of student club advising, curriculum development, and shared governance.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience of the individual selected. Qualified candidates with industry experience are encouraged to apply. Anticipated hiring range: $106,000 - $118,000 per year.
