Position Description:

The Manager, Student Admissions for Orientation Programs must possess a strong enthusiasm for supporting the transition of new students and their families to the University of Louisville community.  The Manager will serve in a leadership capacity for Orientation Programs and provide general guidance and supervision to the Orientation Programs team. The position will serve as supervisor to one full-time staff member, a graduate assistant, and undergraduate student leader staff.  In addition to assisting with the planning and coordination of undergraduate orientation programs, the Manager will also provide support to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions on an as needed basis.  The person in this position will work traditional business hours, some nights and weekends, and will require some overnight travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide general leadership and guidance to the Orientation Programs team, situated in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, including serving as the supervisor to one full-time staff member and one graduate assistant.

  • Serve as the supervisor for the Student Orientation Staff and plan all components of that program in coordination with the graduate assistant and student staff as appropriate. 

  • Serve as the supervisor for the Cards Camp Counselors.

  • Provide planning and day-of-show support for all undergraduate student orientation programs, including freshman orientation, transfer & adult orientation and family orientation.  

  • Provide support for the Cards Camp Extended Orientation Program.

  • Assist at large admissions events and provide other back-up support to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as needed.

  • Serve on the admissions review and appeals committee. 

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
