Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as the Director, Nursing (DON) with oversight of all clinical RNs, triage staff, and immunization services across multiple clinics and administrative offices. Responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans for nursing operations while ensuring high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance. Demonstrates leadership in managing nursing operations, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives. Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion in handling highly sensitive clinical information and materials.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversees and directs all clinical RNs, triage nursing staff, and immunization services across multiple clinic locations and administrative offices.
  2. Develops and implements comprehensive nursing protocols and procedures to ensure best practices, including those for immunization services.
  3. Ensures compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards for nursing practice, including vaccine storage, handling, and administration.
  4. Establishes clinical staffing models and schedules to ensure appropriate coverage in all clinic locations.
  5. Recruits, trains, mentors, and evaluates nursing staff performance and professional development.
  6. Monitors and evaluates nursing metrics, including immunization rates, quality standards and implements strategies to improve overall performance.
  7. Provides support and resources for new staff orientation, training and overall competency standards for all clinical staff, including RN, MA and other key departments.
  8. Collaborates with public health agencies and community partners on healthcare initiatives.
  9. Oversees daily clinical operations including triage workflows and nursing care delivery.
