Role Overview / Purpose and Scope
The Onboarding Trainer is responsible for helping develop, mentor, and coach new team members as they become acclimated to Farmer Focus operations processes. This role trains new team members on the knowledge, skills, procedures, and responsibilities needed to be successful in their assigned positions.
The Onboarding Trainer works in partnership with the Operations team, Orientation Trainer, department leads, supervisors, and Safety to support new hires through their 60-day probationary period. This position requires a strong commitment to lifelong learning, coaching, team member development, and the Farmer Focus CARES values: Community, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hands-on training in assigned departments to help new hires learn the skills needed to contribute effectively to the production process.
Spend approximately 70% of time providing hands-on training and support in production departments.
Monitor new hires to ensure clear expectations are provided regarding proper techniques for specific jobs.
Demonstrate and coach proper job execution within assigned departments.
Assist the Orientation Trainer during new hire orientation week.
Spend approximately 30% of time supporting orientation, new hire understanding, check-ins, documentation, and related onboarding activities.
Check in with new hires at the 2-week, 4-week, and 7-week marks to support understanding of Farmer Focus policies, procedures, and values.
Conduct daily evaluations to track new hire improvements and identify additional training needs within assigned departments.
Analyze processes to determine training needs and opportunities for improvement.
