Job Summary:
General Summary:
The Environmental/Energy Manager reports to Project Manager and will be responsible to ensure operations adhere to the goals and policies of the Environmental System, the Installation Energy Plan, and other specified sustainability requirements affecting this contract. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develops, implements, and monitors environmental strategies, policies, and programs that promote sustainable development and examine the contract activities to establish where improvements can be made and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and energy policy. Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
• Have a minimum two years' experience with environmental procedures similar to a base operations contract.
• Must be familiar with Environmental Management Systems (EMS); and knowledge of environmental regulations and federal energy laws and policy (including energy and water reduction requirements and renewable energy requirements) that are applicable to DoD base operations contracts.
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering; Master's Degree in Management preferred.
• Must possess knowledge of all aspects of the current Environmental Program to include compliance evaluations and documentation, reviews, meetings, briefings, tours, inspections, reports and documentation.
• Strong written and oral communication skills. Work Environment
• Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility.
• Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional bending reaching and lifting.
• Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc. but generally not to the point of being disagreeable. This job description is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and requirements of the job change
