Software Engineer I

About The Role & Team

We are hiring a Software Engineer I to help our compute platform team. We have a team of 10 passionate engineers that are responsible for things like load management, resource management, query semantics, query artifacts and performance optimizations.

As a Software Engineer I at Amplitude, you will: 

• Develop large-scale interactive applications or improve scale, performance, operability, and availability of our internal systems
• Design and develop core distributed components and services 
• Collaborate cross-functionally to build new product features
• Take feedback from other engineering teams and design and implement features for them
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering teams to improve their processes 
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews to learn best practices from our engineering team

You'll be a great addition to the team if you: 

• Have a BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical field 
• Have internship or full time work experience in tech company
• Have strong computer science fundamentals e.g. Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Design, Operating Systems, Distributed Systems
• Enjoy working on technically challenging problems
• Have excellent attention to detail
• Real passion for solving challenging problems and iterating quickly
