Job Description
THE POSITION:
The Lead Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the overall flow of prescription and wholesale orders through the pharmacy. This requires mastery knowledge of all aspects of picking, packing, and shipping orders. The Lead manages and trains staff to ensure all orders are processed correctly and efficiently; as well as in compliance with all federal and state laws and policies and procedures. They serve as the center of knowledge to the fulfillment pharmacy, manage infusion hardware and serve as backup to the Warehouse Operations Manager as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Train and mentor Pharmacy Technicians to provide excellent pharmacy services to our patients and clients
- Ensure all orders as processed correctly and managed appropriately
- Assist other departments with processing orders to and through the pharmacy All other duties as assigned

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:
- Assigning fulfillment staff as needed for optimal work-flow management Overseeing shipment status modification (i.e. hold, return-to-stock)
- Confirming all delivery tickets to ensure each order has left the facility on the correct shipping day, has tracking information, and is ready to bill
- Assisting in the training, development and motivation of pharmacy fulfillment staff to achieve department goals and objectives
- Tracking hardware inventory, invoices, and vendor performance through asset management program and including receipt of hardware into patient management application
- Ensuring compliance of policies and procedures for shipping, receiving and delivery of patient prescriptions, wholesale orders and supply orders.
- Acting as the backup for the Warehouse Operations Manager as needed: Includes required proficiency for purchasing: purchase order entry, submission, receiving, inventory transactions, applicable preventive maintenance, record-keeping and processing return shipments per regulatory requirements and applicable policy/procedures
- Assisting with creation and maintenance of all pharmacy work instructions
- Picking and packing patient prescriptions, wholesale orders and supply orders
- Ensuring all manufacturer program specific literature and materials are included as necessary Creating and ensuring appropriate third party shipping labels are attached to all patient prescriptions, wholesale orders and supply orders
- Ability to complete all Pharmacy Technician responsibilities
- Setting clear direction, effective plans and measurable outcomes
