Catalent’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania site serves as the company’s North American Center of Excellence for clinical supply packaging, delivering comprehensive, end‑to‑end support for global clinical trials across multiple therapeutic modalities. As a critical hub within Catalent’s global clinical supply network, the Philadelphia site helps sponsors accelerate development timelines while maintaining the highest standards of quality, flexibility, and regulatory compliance.

Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and manage balance sheet general ledger accounts. You will assist with audits and tax returns, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with technical accounting standards. You will also support month-end and year-end closing processes, analyze budget variances, and handle billing and invoice processes.

The Role
Prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts
Manage and reconcile balance sheet general ledger accounts
Assist with external and internal audit teams and tax returns
Prepare financial statements and financial reports
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Support month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring account accuracy (3 days)
Analyze and report budget variances
Assist and generate billing of invoices, review and maintain work file process
Perform other duties as assigned
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma
Ability to interpret financial data
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced computer skills in Excel functions (e.g., Pivot Tables, Lookups, Formulas)
Preferred Skills & Background
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum one year of relevant experience
Advanced proficiency with various Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Sage or JD Edwards (JDE)
