The Role:

MCIC is looking for innovators who thrive in tough challenges and are passionate about tackling meaningful work that will shape the future of the automotive industry. This isn’t a role for those looking for an easy path—it’s for those who embrace change, push through obstacles, and take ownership of complex problems. While there will be long days and moments that test your resilience, you’ll find purpose in your work, flexibility to prioritize your family, and the support of a people-first culture. If you’re ready to grow, thrive, and make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

WHY: The purpose of this role is to ensure minimal production downtime by overseeing material requirements and supply chain processes within the organization. Materials Analysts are the backbone of smooth operational workflows, lending their skills to enhance efficiency and support strategic decision making.

WHAT: As a Materials Analyst utilize your expertise to ensure materials are available as needed for production and other business operations, thereby minimizing delays and optimizing costs.

HOW: You will integrate with multiple organizations across the plant to align our GSC Materials strategy.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

Daily material management & floor support

  • Monitor dock, warehouse, supermarket, and overflow areas; perform floor walks to verify material availability, FIFO, and visual management.

  • Respond to emails and communications on shortages, non-conforming material, premium freight, and scheduling changes.

  • Resolve min/max violations, overflow, and no-stock/lost-part situations using standard reports and escalation processes.

  • Coordinate with Group Leaders, Team Leaders, and Material Handlers to ensure timely replenishment to point-of-use and correct issues impacting flow.

Inventory control & data integrity

  • Perform/coordinate cycle counts, precision counts, and third-party counts; reconcile discrepancies and process adjustments (DRs, scrap, miscellaneous adjustments).

  • Analyze negative balances, MRB, non-conformance, damaged material, and variance reports; drive corrective actions to protect inventory accuracy and line delivery.

  • Review and approve shipping requests, special shippers, and CCA/dealer-direct orders, ensuring compliance with export and trade controls.

  • Improve material flow plans, supermarket design, DLOC sizing, min/max settings, packaging, and routing to reduce waste and premium freight.

Launch, change & capacity management

  • Support launch and change activities (new parts, engineering changes, PFEP updates, build events) to protect production.

  • Resolve complex capacity constraints to prevent plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation.

  • Analyze metrics related to supplier issues and sufficiency plans, driving issues to closure.

  • Travel to plant locations as needed for onsite support of launch and build-out; work extended/non-core hours when required to resolve issues.

Leadership & collaboration

  • Lead large cross-functional projects/programs end to end, delivering measurable improvements and innovation.

  • Partner with Manufacturing and other functions through clear, data-driven communication and effective influencing.

  • Present concise, executive-level updates using storytelling and metrics to show progress and insights.

  • Build strong relationships with Production, Quality, Engineering, and suppliers to align on future-focused solutions.
