We’re looking for a Lead Project Manager to join our team.
As a Senior Project Manager, you plan and direct the work of the project team and cross-functional support teams for one or more projects. You will be accountable for the development and maintenance of detailed project plans, schedules and estimates, providing analytical and operational mentorship to the project team, and ensuring client satisfaction for assigned projects. You will also review and approve project team work to ensure adherence to scope, quality and efficiency expectations and implement additional processes or reviews as needed to address systemic or recurring issues. You will assess and report on identified and anticipated project risks and lead risk avoidance or mitigation strategies to minimize project impact, advancing to the task order owner as appropriate. You will Lead internal and external project meetings, providing updates on progress against critical paths and achievements, key operational and financial measures and risk assessments. In this role, you will engage and manage third party resources as needed to support project objectives.

A strong Project Manager (PM) at Western Missouri Medical Center must have leadership, organization, and technical expertise to oversee major initiatives like the Revenue Cycle and Patient Accounting overhaul with OHPA, the MERGE PACs replacement, and the Pharmacy uplift. They need strategic planning skills to align projects with hospital goals, keeping them on track while managing risks.
An effective PM must collaborate across departments, including IT, finance, clinical leadership, and vendors. This means coordinating with billing and compliance teams for the OHPA overhaul, ensuring a smooth MERGE PACs transition with minimal disruption, and managing pharmacy formulary and charge reconciliation to optimize revenue and compliance.
A PM must also be a strong problem solver, proactively identifying risks and adapting to changing priorities. They drive accountability, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and goals are met. Clear communication and change management skills are critical to educating staff, securing leadership support, and ensuring smooth adoption of new processes.
Without a dedicated PM, these mission-critical projects risk delays, inefficiencies, and financial setbacks. A skilled PM ensures WMMC improves operational efficiency, financial performance, and patient care quality by delivering projects on time and within budget.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 5 year project/program management work experience
- At least 5 years additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job and/or completed higher education
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care, Information Technology or Business Administration
- Experience assisting teams to investigate and resolve issues
- Experience leading projects in a healthcare setting
Expectations
- Must reside in or around the Warrensburg, MO area
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% as needed
- Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
- Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
