Our pilot innovative Crop Instructional Designer Apprentice Program allows participants to simultaneously gain the education and the experience to launch a rewarding career in crop insurance.
Zurich’s initiative is to develop a new generation of workers to help the U.S. succeed in the 21st century economy.
This two-year program combines targeted online coursework at University of Arizona Global Campus with relevant work rotations at RCIS Sioux Falls, SD, Fresno, CA, Anoka, MN, Winston Salem, NC offices or fully remote for the right candidate.
In our local office you will be working on the Crop Product Team as an Instructional Designer:
With supervision candidates will work within our crop product team to quality check course content, trainer guides, and other training content.
Responsibilities can include:
- Test print and basic editing for imaging, accuracy and written standards
- Updating and revising courses materials with new information and references
- Helping with new and current participant guides for internal/external customers
- Maintaining flexibility and adjusting project plans to meet business goals
Apprentices who successfully complete this two-year program will:
- Work in a paid, benefit-eligible full-time position at Zurich
- Earn a tuition-free Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
- Receive a Department of Labor Certificate of Apprenticeship
- Possess credentials and skills for today’s ever-changing marketplace
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Business or rising Junior with two years of coursework in Communication, Business Admin, Technical Writing or related and no prior years of experience in the Insurance area. Contingent on admittance into University of Arizona Global Campus Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in the insurance industry
- Experience in the agriculture industry
- 2 or more years of work experience and/or leadership role in student activities or community service activities
- Intermediate computer skills, especially Excel
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a changing environment
- Critical thinking skills
