What’s involved with this role

The Quality Engineer will be part of the team, whose role is to ensure that the quality of our software and networks is maintained at a high level by maintaining, developing and advocating for great tools, frameworks, and practices. Your focus will be on automation, and providing invaluable insights into the quality of our services. Your specific role and responsibilities within a team can vary depending on their skills, but our support for your development will not. Your work will include:

• Design, architect, and build testing tools. Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to develop best-in-class methods and solutions to measuring both software  and network performance and stability across a wide range of platforms.
• Automation. Our teams are responsible for identifying areas to optimise testing efficiency, speed and effectiveness.
• Collaboration with others. We are open,friendly, skilled and motivated, and unified by our mission to protect the privacy and security of millions of customers worldwide. . 
• Continuous improvement. Our teams are constantly looking for new ways to improve. Our Quality Assurance engineers are at the heart of this, helping with the definition, measurement and observability of improvements. 

What you will need to succeed

• Strong interest in Virtual Private Networks
• Innovative mindset and proactive attitude
• Drive for continuous improvement
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• A high degree of curiosity and stakeholder empathy
• 5+ years of experience in Quality, Network, or Software Engineering
• Expertise in one or more programming languages (preference given to Rust, Golang, C/C++, Java, and Python)
• Experience in automated testing at different levels, from unit to e2e testing
• Familiarity with backend and DevOps technologies 

Nice to have for this role, we’ll train you if you needed

• Good comprehension of network tools, frameworks, protocols and architectures
• Familiarity of working of networking with Apple, Microsoft, Google or Linux products
