You are an engineering manager at heart. You love to partner with the business to architect, design, and implement planning solutions. You have a passion for problem solving as part of a global team and supporting merchants and planners in selecting and executing a world class merchandising assortment. You are able to balance a mix of project work and on-going operations support, and you never shy away from a technical challenge. You’re also resourceful and collaborative, remain calm under pressure, and you always value a sense of humor!A Day in the Life:
The typical day is… atypical. You might be leading the engineering team in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Tory Burch’s retail planning systems or playing a crucial role in optimizing our assortment planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes through advanced technology solutions. You will be applying your strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and passion for innovation in the retail industry to make life better for our merchants and planners. The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Technical Leadership:
- Lead the engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining retail planning systems.
- Oversee the implementation of new technologies and tools to enhance planning capabilities.
- Project Management:
- Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
- Build data and process governance models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, supply chain, and finance, to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Data Engineering:
- Design and maintain scalable data architectures to support retail planning systems.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and availability to drive business decisions.
- Work closely with data analysts and data engineers to deliver actionable insights from data.
- System Optimization:
- Continuously evaluate and optimize existing planning systems for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
- Team Development:
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs and challenges.
