Manager, EU Strategic Operations Finance - Transportation(m/f/x)

<p><strong>The Opportunity:</strong></p> <p>This position is responsible for supporting Wayfair’s Commercial and Operations organizations in navigating the complex area of our transportation network and fulfillment process delivering the products from suppliers to our customers for the European market. This role sits in the core of bridging the insights from financial data with strategy around product delivery, carrier management, and profitability steering. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong financial knowledge to succeed in our highly collaborative and cross functional team environment. Strategic questions this person may be tasked with answering include: How should we optimize the carrier network? How can we balance the delivery experience with cost implications?</p> <p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build financial models to size and prioritize transportation initiatives</li> <li>Understand and translate operational initiatives into quantifiable metrics to hold stakeholders informed and accountable</li> <li>Develop and maintain analytics models in SQL to understand cost structure and identify optimization opportunities</li> <li>Act as a partner between Operations and Commercial leadership teams provide latest insights on the cost trends and financial implications of operational and commercial decisions</li> <li>Manage a team of direct reports, own the team’s project roadmap, and lead the team in its execution</li> <li>Partner with various teams to develop new processes and streamline future decision making</li> </ul> <p><strong>What you’ll need:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in finance, operations, or strategy in a fast-paced environment or top-tier management consulting firm</li> <li>Ability to thrive in a high growth and entrepreneurial environment where strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities are a must</li> <li>Technical in nature; advanced Excel skills and experience in SQL or similar</li> <li>Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and executive management</li> <li>Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results</li> <li>Experience working within large datasets and passionate about solving complex business problems even when clean and or complete information is not available</li> </ul><p><strong>About Wayfair Inc.</strong></p> <p>Wayfair is one of the world’s largest online destinations for the home.
