Amentum is seeking an experienced Solutions Designer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Combatant Command Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) under the Apollo program. The Apollo Solutions Architect Team (ASAT) is a cross-functional enterprise team that drives innovation, standardization, and integration across all Apollo Task Order services. ASAT serves as Apollo’s dedicated SME cell, delivering scalable support to Combatant Commands through advanced solution design, operational integration, training, analysis, and modernization. Centrally based in Tampa, the ASAT continuously develops and deploys new tools, workflows, and TTPs to outpace adversaries and strengthen Combatant Command information advantage.
As a member of the Apollo Solution Architect Team (ASAT), the selected candidate will design innovative operational, analytical, technological, visualization, automation, and knowledge-management solutions that improve mission effectiveness across the full spectrum of Apollo services. This role supports all Combatant Commands and serves as the principal solution design expert responsible for transforming operational requirements into scalable, integrated, and executable mission solutions that improve information advantage, operational agility, and decision superiority.
As a Solutions Designer (SME), you will:
- Serve as a core member of the Apollo Solution Architect Team (ASAT) supporting Combatant Commands, Task Forces, Joint Task Forces, and mission partners across the full Apollo portfolio.
- Serve as a senior solution architect responsible for designing integrated operational, analytical, and technical solutions.
- Act as the ASAT coordinator, ensuring solution designs are synchronized across ASAT workstreams and aligned with the Solutions Manager’s direction.
- Serve as the technical design lead for ASAT, focusing on workflow engineering, automation concepts, visualization frameworks, and integration of emerging technologies
- Design integrated operational solutions that connect planning, operations, intelligence, assessment, analytics, training, knowledge management, Irregular Warfare (IW), and Information Forces activities.
- Analyze mission requirements, user workflows, operational challenges, and capability gaps to develop innovative and practical mission-focused solutions.
- Develop solution architectures, operational workflows, data flows, decision-support frameworks, knowledge-management designs, and automation concepts.
- Create operational concepts, solution blueprints, implementation designs, workflow diagrams, process models, and capability integration approaches supporting Apollo requirements.
- Design solutions that leverage OIE capabilities, ISIO activities, assessment frameworks, operational intelligence, data analytics, AI-enabled support tools, visualization platforms, and information-sharing environments.
- Support development of Power BI dashboards, knowledge-management environments, collaboration architectures, operational visualization frameworks, and decision-support designs.
- Translate operational requirements from Combatant Commands into technical, analytical, procedural, and organizational solution designs.
- Collaborate with Solutions Managers, OIE Planners, Data Scientists, Knowledge Managers, ISIOs, Assessment Integrators, and Information Forces specialists to ensure designs are operationally relevant and technically feasible.
- Facilitate solution design workshops, mission engineering sessions, operational design reviews, requirements workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
- Produce solution concepts, design documentation, implementation roadmaps, executive briefings, visualization products, and capability recommendations.
- Support experimentation, prototyping, pilot initiatives, and innovation activities that improve mission performance across the Information Environment.
- Recommend future-state operational architectures and modernization approaches that improve scalability, interoperability, collaboration, and mission effectiveness.
- Travel (CONUS/OCONUS) to support solution requirements across participating CCMDs.
Required Qualifications
- Must have an active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Operations, Military Operations, Operational Planning, Business Transformation, Human-Centered Design, or related discipline.
- Minimum 11 years of experience supporting military operations, solution design, systems integration, mission engineering, operational planning, business transformation, data solutions, or related mission areas.
