Position: Software Engineer (Backend and Machine Learning)

Type: Full Time

Location: San Mateo, CA (On-site 3 days a week: Mon/Wed/Fri)

Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 + 0.1% - 0.5% Equity

About the Role:

We are an early-stage generative AI startup in the SF Bay Area, building a unified platform to enable hyper-personalized, omnichannel campaigns at scale. Our platform is tailored for mid-market and enterprise marketing leaders, working closely with demand generation, product marketing, and content teams.

As a Software Engineer focusing on backend and machine learning, you will design and maintain scalable systems, optimize databases, and implement APIs that drive innovative solutions for our customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend systems using Python, AWS services, and cloud architecture.
• Optimize databases with a focus on PostgreSQL.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Build scalable, distributed systems with a comprehensive approach to system design.
• Collaborate with the team and customers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a top university.
• 4–8 years of experience in backend and machine learning engineering.
• Proven experience at a top blue-chip tech company or a reputable startup backed by top VCs.
• Proficiency in Python, AWS services, cloud architecture, PostgreSQL, and database optimization.
• Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Based in the Bay Area, with the ability to work in the San Mateo office three times a week (Mon/Wed/Fri).

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with AI/LLMs, including knowledge of AI model deployment and optimization.
