Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.  Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.

Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis.

JOB SUMMARY: The Director, East Region is responsible for the operational oversight of multiple clinics within the region, ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery and regulatory compliance. This role provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational management to drive performance, enhance patient access, and ensure alignment with MHC’s mission and strategic objectives. The Director will work collaboratively with clinical and administrative leadership to optimize workflows, support growth, and maintain financial sustainability while fostering community partnerships. 

Location: This role will oversee MHC clinics in Columbia, Antioch, Murfreesboro, Manchester, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Cleveland.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Operational Leadership: 

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple clinics in the East Region, ensuring efficiency, high-quality service delivery, and regulatory compliance. 

  • Ensure that all clinics operate in alignment with MHC policies, procedures, workflows, and best practices. 

Strategic Planning & Growth: 

  • Develop and implement strategic business goals to enhance access to care, meet census growth targets, and drive regional expansion. 

  • Identify and evaluate partnership opportunities, collaborating with healthcare providers, managed care organizations, and community stakeholders. 

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance: 

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, Medicaid/Medicare, and accreditation standards. 

  • Oversee the implementation of best practices and process improvements to meet quality assurance benchmarks. 

Financial & Budget Management: 

  • Develop, manage, and monitor regional clinic budgets in collaboration with the VP, Integrated Care, ensuring fiscal responsibility. 

  • Analyze operational and financial data to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness. 

Workforce & Performance Management: 

  • Supervise clinic leadership teams, providing guidance, performance oversight, and professional development opportunities. 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement among staff. 

Stakeholder & Community Engagement: 

  • Serve as the primary representative of MHC in the East Region, maintaining strong relationships with healthcare partners, payers, local government, and community organizations. 

  • Advocate for MHC’s mission, promoting its programs, beliefs, and services within the community.
