About the Role:  

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer who has a solid experience and background in building data platforms and working on customer-facing teams. In this role, you will be expected to be a technical leader for the team and domain across the company. The team is currently working to build critical pipelines to collect customer interaction and usage events as well as surfacing these data via a common reporting surface. In this role, you'll join a team that is scrappy, agile, and quality-driven. You'll work closely with product and design to build features that meet our customers' needs (both external and internal) and develop usage and reporting tools that help us and our customers better understand where they are deriving value.

Impact You’ll Own:

• Evolving and maintaining a data platform that supports large-scale data processing for in-product use
• Developing high-quality, scalable, and self-serve software solutions for both internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborating closely with product teams to build features and functionality that meet customer needs
• Building and maintaining usage and reporting tools that help teams and customers better understand data and insights
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues with data platforms and other software solutions
• Mentoring and coaching the team and instilling best practices for data engineering across the software organization

What You Bring:

• 7+ years of experience in software development, with an emphasis on data platforms and customer-facing teams
• Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, and testing methodologies
• Experience with designing and implementing data platforms, including data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
• Proven experience in bringing testing best practices to a team and increasing developer confidence
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience working cross-functionally and in a fast-paced environment

What Makes You Stand Out:

• Experience with big data technologies such as BigQuery, Apache Beam, Spark, and Google Dataflow
• Experience with cloud computing (GCP) and distributed systems
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers
• A passion for staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends
