Overview of the role

As a Senior Treasury & Accounting Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing the company’s liquidity, ensuring efficient cash flow, and overseeing financial transactions while also supporting Accounting in reconciliations, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.

This position requires a strong background in treasury management and accounting with experience in the commodities sector.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury Management:

• Monitor and manage daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow to ensure operational liquidity.

• Prepare and maintain a detailed treasury forecast, tracking expected cash inflows and outflows.

• Supervise and reconcile company bank accounts, ensuring proper balance controls.

• Coordinate payments to suppliers, both domestic and international, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

• Manage and oversee collections from customers, ensuring timely payments and addressing discrepancies.

• Optimize short-term and long-term treasury strategies, including credit lines and investment opportunities.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and tax requirements related to treasury operations.

Accounting:

• Record and verify invoices from national and international suppliers, ensuring accurate cost allocation.

• Perform account reconciliations on AR/AP (monthly and quarterly) and ensure accuracy in financial records.

• Assist in tax filings, VAT reporting, and ensure correct application of tax regulations.

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including provisions and adjustments.

• Provide documentation and support for audit processes and regulatory reporting. 

Financial Optimization:

• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency in treasury and accounting functions.

• Prepare reports on cash flow, profitability, and liquidity management to support decision-making.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., trading, supply chain, and finance) to ensure efficient payment and collection management.

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in treasury and accounting, preferably in the commodities sector.

• Strong understanding of IFRS/GAAP accounting principles and local tax regulations.

• Experience managing banking relationships, treasury operations, and cash flow forecasting.

• Proficiency in accounting systems (SAP, Navision, Dynamics, or similar ERP).

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modelling).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment and collaborate across teams.

• Fluent in Spanish and advanced English (spoken and written).
