City Of Atlanta, Department of Human Resources is seeking a hardworking candidate for our Internship Program. We invite you to apply for this available position in our esteemed Human Resources Department.
This twelve-week internship is specifically designed to provide a first touch in all HR disciplines and will cover all the major areas within a full-functioning Human Resources operation. This is a part time position that carries the expectation that the intern will work 30 hours per week.
General Responsibilities:
- The duties and responsibilities of the HR Generalist in the following general headings: Labor and Employee Relations, Policy, Medical Leave, HR Operations, Employee Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Employee Engagement and HR Information Systems;
- Collaborates with HR team to launch/post communication campaigns;
- Effectively interact with all City employees and possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
- Act as an ambassador by sharing information with fellow interns and bringing feedback to the team;
- Participates in internal and external planning and training meetings;
- Support department initiatives as directed by the supervisor;
- Promote the City’s Moving Atlanta Forward agenda and promote that the City has an “Opportunity for All”;
- Communicate findings and project status clearly and professionally;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Currently enrolled in college or graduated within the last calendar year;
- Pursuing a degree with a major or concentration in Human Resources, Business Management, International Affairs, Government, Public Administration, International Business or related field;
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
- Detail-oriented, effective organization and time management skills
- Internships in Human Resources or Government preferred;
- Ability to work well as part of a team;
- Good collaborative and relationship-building skills;
