Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Global Services is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Product Manager to become part of the Training Systems - Battlespace Simulation Management team in Hazelwood, Missouri. This position will support our Apache Longbow Crew Trainer products for the US Army. The Apache program supports trainers around the world. This is an excellent opportunity gain knowledge of the depth and breadth of the training solutions Boeing provides to the US Army as well as to contribute to one of the cornerstone programs of the Training Systems portfolio.

BSM is responsible for the design, development, manufacture, and maintenance of training devices for a wide variety of commercial and military aircraft - everything from F-15 fighter jets to Apache attack helicopters, and even NASA's Starliner spacecraft. Software engineers on our team are responsible for all phases of the software lifecycle, including architecture, design, implementation and test. They are also directly involved in planning their own work, as part of the agile methodology, with a focus on technical excellence.

The BSM team is a large software development team comprised of several smaller agile teams, some with specialized skills. Our backlog includes everything from new feature development using cutting-edge technology to maintenance of legacy software baselines. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in an often fast-paced environment within a two-week "sprint" schedule.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will be the interface between customer programs and the BSM agile software engineering organization. You will be responsible for managing the entire product life cycle. Your role includes project management, technical leadership, and system requirements definition. You will be collaborating with software engineering teams and the program to maintain a common vision and deliver winning products.

Occasional travel (10%) may be required in support of the program and customer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, business, and integration leadership to software engineering projects

  • Support proposal development and lead engineering execution by identifying activities, resources, and tasks required to complete the work statement

  • Develop and manage BSM’s statement of work (SOW)

  • Manage scope and any changes to project baselines

  • Define plans for risk mitigation and opportunity

  • Maintain Earned Value Management Metrics and manage project performance to plan

  • Investigate, analyze, and recommend opportunities that drive quality and process improvements

  • Collaborate with agile teams to build and manage new features and capabilities while delivering the desired business impact

  • Define high-level features based on business stakeholder priorities and architectural changes recommended by engineering

  • Manage product release schedules and release activities

  • Assure the development team’s products effectively addresses program priorities while maintaining technical integrity and cost and schedule targets

  • Advocate, recommend, & champion process improvements and corrective actions to address lessons learned

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering project planning or project management

  • 5+ years of experience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, engineers, writers, product managers and software developers

  • Experience with product development in an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience as an agile Product Manager, Product Owner or Scrum Master

  • Project Management Professional certification
