Job Summary
The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for the implementation of software that solves complex business problems, and is scalable, secure, and easy to maintain This position will drive the adherence of technology solutions to the company's architectural standards and business growth.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in release management, and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities include managing and optimizing the release strategy, enforcing best practices, and ensuring the software builds through different stages and environments.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
• Working closely with Product owners, Engineering team and other stakeholders to understand the requirements and design software release processes to meet the product requirements
• Supports the merging of code bases for multiple project streams along with contributing to the coding best practices
• Solves complex and ambitious problems by crafting elegant and impactful solutions
• Mentors and supports other members of the software development team and contributes to the software development and release best practices
• Maintain appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
• Clearly Communicate all key release details, plans, commitments, and changes to Business and IT leaders as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in information technology, engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job - preferred
Certifications - Copado Fundamentals I and/or Copado Fundamentals II preferred. Development Lifecycle and Deployment Designer, Administrator and/or Platform Application Builder - preferred
Work Experience
Typically 8+ years of progressive experience as an IT professional is required, experience in application administration, development, release management or DevOps - preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Understanding of all phases of Software development life cycle
• Software Release Experience with one or more of the following: SalesForce using tools such as Copado, GitHub, Bitbucket
• Experience in drafting best SDLC and release practices and that are scalable, secure, and easy to maintain.
• Strong Problem-solving, communication and organizational skills
• Experience with deploying code to cloud native applications and large-scale platforms that deal real-time complex transactions, and ability to troubleshoot distributed systems
• Proficiency with Release Management practices, techniques and tools, development lifecycle within Agile framework
