About You
This person is responsible for the coordination and supervision of employees in a recognized production or manufacturing unit. Coordinates subordinate employee performance assessment, work assignments, salary, recognition/disciplinary actions, upgrading, and transfer. Responsible for coordinating and supervising employees who set up and operate standard machine tools and attachments for various processing operations in the production of parts, assemblies, and complete units.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures quality procedures and plans are being maintained; monitors and evaluates performance, initiating recommendations and corrective action where needed.
- Monitors daily production, work completion, and/or personnel performance to ensure proper part/product/work order completion with respect to all quality and quantity standards.
- Interfaces with the maintenance of appropriate levels of labor and general conformances with Stihl employee rules, as directed by the supervisor. Communicates findings to Supervisor and Engineering as necessary to determine root cause of issues.
- Schedules operators and communicates machine assignments. Ensures that manpower needs are met and labor is scheduled in such a manner that labor efficiency is maximized. Performs timekeeping responsibilities and manages coverage for employee vacation or absence.
- Reviews work methods and recommends procedural or process changes to better accomplish department goals
- Interfaces closely with process engineering, QA and maintenance, ensuring key equipment is operating within acceptable parameters.
- Monitors basic preventative maintenance and cleaning on machines & tooling to minimize the possibility of future machine downtime. Alerts supervisor and maintenance department of machine problems and enters relevant SAP work orders.
- Assists in possible work process changes required by availability of raw materials, order completion requirements, or other operations requirements, ensuring all required changeovers are completed.
- Ensures all processes are OSHA compliant and that all associates are working in a safe and correct manner. Ensures all work stations are ergonomically compliant before introduction into manufacturing. Trains employees in proper work methods, safety and efficient performance of job duties and recognition of items to be completed.

Specifications
- High School degree or equivalent 3-5 years of related experience and/or training.
- Frequent standing, occasional walking and sitting; using of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reaching with hands and arms, and stooping, kneeling or crouching.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
