As an Associate within the US Card Risk Event and Issues team you will join a collaborative environment focused on learning and contributing to our critical event and issue management processes. This role is designed for individuals eager to dive in and help close out existing items while building a strong foundation in risk management practices at Capital One.
You will work alongside experienced risk managers, business leads and Card Governance, gaining hands-on experience with the entire lifecycle of an issue or event—from initial analysis and solution identification to execution and closure. Since risk events and issues do not happen sequentially, at any given time you will be concurrently managing multiple open items

General Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting business customers through Risk Event and/or Issue containment and remediation, with guidance from senior team members.
Working with internal process owners, analysts, tech, and third parties to understand and address issues.
Assisting in the analysis and interpretation of Risk Event and/or Issue results to understand implications and determine appropriate corrective actions.
Coordinating, influencing, and negotiating with various teams to ensure timelines are met and remediation projects move forward.
Contributing to the investigation of root causes and problem-solving for remediation projects.
Maintaining artifacts, evidence, and entries into the system of record.
Identifying and escalating situations to leadership in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Supporting process improvements aligned with desired customer outcomes.
Developing subject matter expertise on the Issue & Event processes when representing the department in projects and other meetings.
Understanding and utilizing Capital One’s Risk Management tools and systems.
Assisting in drafting and delivering presentations using well-reasoned information and cohesive data.
Working collaboratively with your direct team and business partners, sharing tools, ideas, and expertise.

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, military experience or equivalent certification
At least 1 year of experience in Project Management, Process Management, Operations, or Risk Management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
2+ years of experience in Risk Management, Process Management, Project Management or Operations
1+ years of experience with G-Suite documentation management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
