JOB OVERVIEW:
The primary responsibility for the Production Services Assistant is to support the mission and Core Values of HGC by assisting the production machine operators with any and all needs that are requested. This includes loading materials, emptying trash, removing unnecessary skids, and pulling dies to eliminate down time. This helps meet the needs of our customers and HGC guidelines of 100% quality and on time shipments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assuring all machines are loaded with materials for production.
Daily routine cleaning and upkeep of production facilities.
Continual removal of scrap from production to designated dumpsters.
Assisting set-up processes.
Assisting with timely movement of shipping containers to and from press production.
Sweeping production floors daily, with general daily upkeep.
Assisting all departments with special assignments.
Clean and maintain Dumpster Trap on a regular basis.
Assist in keeping all material shelves, all prepared materials staging stations, and prepared material at machines clean and organized.
Operate forklifts to deliver cut material to press areas.
Must be able to handle all calls and maintain the needs of the production areas at all times.
Maintaining a constant work flow for all production presses to avoid downtime waiting for materials.
Follow written and verbal directions.
Ensure aisles and walkways are free of obstructions.
Follow safety guidelines at all times.
Regular reliable attendance.
Interacting and working well with co-workers and management.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks and performs other duties as needed and/or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Previous experience a plus. Minimum of one year of forklift experience required. Must be able to read a tape measure. A strong willingness to learn new processes and procedures will help the individual be successful at HGC.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Forklift Certification in previous role preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills are required.
COMPUTER/SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED
None.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
The person in this role will be consistently required to: bend/crouch, carry objects, climb, handle/manipulate objects, lift (50 lbs maximum) kneel, push/pull, engage rapid reflex movements (such as catching parts from a press), reach, sit, standing for long periods of time, walking and rotating.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Fast paced, deadline oriented manufacturing plant and office. The person will be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals and other airborne particles. They will use heavy machinery and/or hand or power tools. Will work with or near dry ice, CO2 Gas, and/or silicone. Wear protective clothing/equipment. May work in areas of extreme heat.
