SENIOR PORTFOLIO BANKER

Major Duties:

  • Manages the most complex banking, credit and treasury management client relationships and identifies opportunities for investment management and fiduciary services.
  • Proactively communicates with client on emerging issues, bank products/services, and legal/regulatory changes translating the impact on our client’s activities and banking services.
  • Identifies opportunities and develops an on-going marketing strategy for specific clients.
  • Proactively advises and consults with clients as it relates to Goals Driven Wealth Management.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of credit policy, banking products as well as risk management in providing the best solutions and developing new opportunities.
  • Assists borrowers in managing risk, including interest rate risk thru the use special pricing conditions and interest rates Swaps.
  • Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult.
  • Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management.
  • Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas.
    Leads others to solve complex problems.
  • Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.
     

The successful candidate will benefit from having the following competencies:

  • At least 7 years credit and relationship management experience as well as financial analysis and client servicing experience, or commercial lending or leasing experience.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • In-depth knowledge of finance and relevant business segment specific issues are required to manage client relationships.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry laws and regulations and completion of the lending program is required to evaluate credit risk.
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills and ability to develop new business required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
     

Salary Range:

$137,400 - 233,600 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
