The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking an Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA

BT&E El Segundo STE engineering is responsible for the development and delivery of test system solutions and Special Test Equipment (STE) engineering products to our satellite system test teams.  Our STE engineering teams create non-flight engineering product designs that range from custom PCBs to automated multi-rack test systems.

The engineering function of Boeing Test and Evaluation El Segundo (BT&E-ES) creates automated test systems and the hardware products used by our test operations teams onsite and at satellite launches. For test systems and hardware products, our group is accountable for all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, requirements and design, integration, test, verification and product maintenance.

We are searching for candidates that value the skills development that occurs when working a variety of diverse assignments, alongside system architects and electrical engineers in a collaborative team environment.

Engineers must maintain detailed requirements and specifications for various hardware products; develop detailed designs of varying levels of complexity for special test equipment (STE); conduct various methods of testing and verification of special test equipment (STE); provide engineering support and change control throughout the lifecycle of delivered products; and implement Model Based Engineering (MBE).

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate or Mid-Level Electrical Design & Analysis Engineer.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Analyzes customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products

  • Develops high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications

  • Validates designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis

  • Performs test and integration of EE designs in a lab setting

  • Identifies, tracks and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements

  • Supports Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services of limited scope

  • Provides engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product

  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

  • Create documentation and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, hardware design, digital design, and system design

  • Manage multiple projects and priorities through their full lifecycle

  • Calculate power estimates of modules to support thermal analysis and pedestal design

  • Provide electrical constraint information for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout and support

  • Works under general direction

 Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 

  • 2+ years of experience designing and/or fabricating hardware in a lab environment including using test equipment (i.e. Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Multimeters)

  • 1+ years of experience developing test procedure and test process documentation

  • 2+ years of experience gathering requirements, developing designs, creating schematics & layouts, implementing, and verifying system in cooperation with the customer

  • Experience with Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design or Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in ABET accredited course of study in engineering or engineering technology

  • Circuit analysis experience using tools such as LTSpice, PSpice, SIMETRIX

  • Experience performing Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
