Way Mechanical is located in San Antonio, Dallas, Austin, Houston and Nashville. We specialize in commercial air conditioning, plumbing, piping and the maintenance of these systems. Way Mechanical is at the forefront of design build/design assist, preconstruction, commissioning, building information modeling and quality control. We are seeking a HVAC Field Supervisor to join our team!
Position Overview:
The HVAC Field Supervisor will oversee a team of service technicians in the field, ensuring that commercial HVAC service calls, preventive maintenance, and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. This position is critical in maintaining strong customer relationships, supporting technicians in the field, and ensuring top-quality service.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach, and support HVAC service technicians on commercial accounts
- Chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled, screw, centrifugal, scroll, and absorption units
- Cooling towers, pumps, hydronic piping systems
- Boilers, burners, and steam systems
- Packaged rooftop units (RTUs) and air handling units (AHUs)
- VAV systems, fan coil units, and control systems
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for system diagnostics, controls, and performance issues
- Ensure service work meets manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and local/state codes
- Conduct quality control checks, job site safety, and customer walkthroughs
- Collaborate with Service Managers on labor forecasting, job costs, and technician performance
- Assist with retrofit projects and upgrades, providing technical oversight and coordination
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of commercial HVAC service experience, including hands-on work with chillers, boilers, hydronic systems, and controls
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory, foreman, or lead technician role
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, refrigeration cycles, and hydronic system operations
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS/DDC), including troubleshooting and programming
- Proficiency with mechanical drawings, schematics, and service documentation
- EPA Universal Certification required
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
