About the role

Senior Physiotherapist – AHP Level 3 – Physiotherapy Outpatient Rehabilitation

Full Time Fixed Term until 31/1/26

Tasmanian Health Service – North (Launceston General Hospital)

To be Tasmanian is to value quality over quantity. We create, preserve, and protect the unusual. With quiet confidence, with passion and perseverance, we pursue the extraordinary. Could you be Tasmanian?

You’ve paired a diverse clinical skillset with leadership nous. And you could put this into place anywhere. What’s different about Tasmania is our culture and our lifestyle. Here you will be encouraged to be yourself, to learn, to grow and to develop meaning in your work. You will have a powerful connection to your patients, you will influence decision making within a vital service, and the community will encourage your success. Our isolation helps drive a culture of creation and human connection, which feels both old fashioned and… like the only future worth pursuing.

Here you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breath-taking coastlines, National Parks, and incredible fresh produce crafted by locals. After a hard day at work, you don’t sit in traffic for an hour. You’re decompressing with a wander through our beautiful city, on putting on your boots and telling it to a mountain, within minutes.

We offer an exciting and rewarding place to work, featuring contemporary, evidence-informed practise that sees our Physiotherapists closely linked to the broader multidisciplinary team. We are a team of some 80 staff, a mix of passionate locals and new Tasmanian adventurers who will welcome your energy and experiences into the group dynamic.

This important role will see you working within John Cannell’s Neuro-Rehabilitation team in an outpatient setting providing tailored, goal based, time limited care to clients requiring single discipline physiotherapy.  This role encompasses a wide variety of client presentations and specialises in neurorehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, falls and balance, spinal cord injuries and amputee conditions. We’ll be committed to seeing you thrive.  We’ll look after you from the very beginning, ensuring you are fully welcomed into our team and culture. As an Allied Health group, we are dedicated to the development of our people and will work to help you to achieve your goals. Physiotherapist Guy McLachlan moved to this region to take on a Senior role.  They would be most happy to hear from you to answer questions about their journey to Tasmania, and how they find working in our health service and physio team: guy.mclachlan@ths.tas.gov.au
