What You Will Do

Guidehouse is looking for an experienced Software Developer at the Subject Matter Expert (SME) level with experience in supporting federal organizations. Your duties will be in support of a federal client in developing, operating, maintaining, and enhancing their suite of enterprise systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating new applications, algorithms, and optimize workflows and improved data analytics. This includes defining requirements for technical solutions, conducting research and deploying emerging technology, and enhancing the overall solution portfolio.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.

  • Provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff.

  • Design, create, test, and maintain software and web-based applications and content solutions to satisfy customer requirements.

  • Follow a formal design process using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, other accepted design techniques and also adheres to laws, standards, and established guidelines for development and delivery of software and web applications (e.g., software reuse, modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, fault tolerant).

  • Develop and maintain software and web development technical documentation to assist with software and web application maintenance and upgrades.

  • Provide software process management and configuration management throughout the software/web development lifecycle.

  • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize applications and services.

  • Review and critique code written by other developers.

  • Responsible for planning, conducting, and coordinating software development.

  • Documentation, testing, and debugging software in an agile environment.

  • Advise regarding feasibility of potential future projects to management.

What You Will Need: 

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED TOP SECRET/SCI federal security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline

  • TEN (10) or more years’ experience as a full stack developer and/or Java Developer to include development, testing and deploying Java software and backend frameworks (Nodejs, Go Gin AngularJS, Java Spring, Google Web Toolkit, etc.)

  • TEN (10) or more years' experience with software development lifecycle processes including Agile, software design patterns and antipatterns, and systems design

What Would Be Nice To Have

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline

  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, PL/SQL, ExtJS 7, REST/SOAP, HTML, XML, JSON, SQL.

  • Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Security, EclipseLink (JPA), Oracle, Tomcat, Aurora / PostgreSQL, Eclipse IDE, Maven, Katalon.

  • Experience with AWS including EC2, RDS, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, IAM, Secrets Manager.

  • Experience with GitLab Runner, CloudFormation, Python, Ansible, Apache Solr, Linux, Bash, Jira, Confluence, GitLab/Git, Splunk.

  • Test automation experience.

  • Experience with SAFe agile framework and 508 compliance

The annual salary range for this position is $149,000.00-$248,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
