CVN Nuclear Maintenance Specialist
Summary
This position will be responsible for maintaining the material condition and war-fighting readiness of an aircraft carrier. This support will include determining maintenance availabilities, assisting in scheduling of maintenance, identifying repair facilities, and maintaining a budget.
This person will need to interface with Type Commander, shipyard facilities, various program managers, and ship's force.
Mantech is seeking an experienced CVN Nuclear Systems Analyst to serve as the Maintenance Coordinator or Readiness Coordinator in our Norfolk, VA facility. Position requires retired Nuke
The requirements are, but are not limited to:
- Over 6 years experience with Regional Maintenance Automated Information System (RMAIS) in work package screening and ship’s availability planning.
- Fluent in the use of RMAIS, ability to review and validate, sort, screen and provide feedback to the respective ship and work centers on jobs submitted to ensure information contained is correct and all inclusive in order to broker work items to repair activities.
- Ten years experience of direct involvement with Naval Nuclear Propulsion onboard aircraft carriers.
- Strong knowledge in hull, mechanical and electrical equipment and systems for aircraft carriers.
- Able to discuss and brief senior naval officers and civilians (both within and outside of CNAL’s chain of command) with regard to system and equipment status and provide recommended course of action to repair.
- Able to communicate with sound independent judgment with various repair activities on required repairs and have the knowledge to understand and communicate those repairs. Have recent experience working directly with NSSA, NSSA MSMO, ESU, CEMAT, NRMD, NNSY W-130.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate the CSMP, making recommendations for the brokering of maintenance actions to the Maintenance Program Manager.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint; able to develop and maintain spreadsheets, analyze data received and provide recommendations both short term and long term in order to ensure material readiness of the aircraft carrier.
- Access to and strong knowledge in Navy Data Environment (NDE) for Ship Change Documents (SCD).
- Access to and strong knowledge in MFOM for CASREP status and updates.
- Strong knowledge of system and equipment deficiencies; ensure Departure From Specification (DFS) are issued when warranted and schedule same for future corrective action.
- Strong knowledge in Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) for availability tracking. - Strong knowledge in Steam Plant Action Request (SPAR), Steam Plant Liaison Inquiry (SPLI) and Liaison Action Request (LAR) for critical information updates.
- Ten years of experience interfacing with shipyard Project Team members, i.e. Project Superintendent (PS) , Assistant Project Superintendent (APS), Project Engineering Planning Manager (PEPM), Business Strategic Planning Officer (BSPO), work Integration Manager (WIM).
- Two years experience in evaluating maintenance provider estimates during project planning phase prior to start of availabilities.
Educational Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, or Ten years in service experience, in Lieu of Bachelors Degree,
- Additionally accepted, Nuclear S School training and 8+ years exp. will be considered.
- One must have excellent written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow directions is a must.
- Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team.
- Proven leadership skills are a plus.
Clearance Requirements
- A US Secret Security Clearance is required.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- An Interim US Secret is acceptable to start
