As a Biometrics Senior Scientist you will lead the Biometrics team efforts and strategy to implement state-of-the-art decision-making tools and optimization applications to support global row crop breeding programs. Expected to contribute with ongoing predictive breeding efforts through the translation of innovation in practical breeding processes to support global breeding programs.

- Conceptualize and prototype end-user decision-making platform using programming tools and/or out-of-the-shelf software. Partner with and define requirements to enable digitals teams for enterprise level implementation.
- Investigate the optimization and design of breeding programs to increase their efficiency by using and expanding internal optimization software and simulation techniques
- Coordinate and champion activities across different functions (breeding, digital, digital phenotyping) to efficiently integrate and analyze data in a scalable and timely manner using state-of-the-art algorithms. Provide end-user training using real-life examples.
- Contribute to ongoing predictive breeding efforts focusing on the translation of innovation in practical breeding processes to support global breeding programs. Guide and support other team members in such activities.
If you have...
- Ph.D. degree in statistics or quantitative genetics (or related)
- 6- year experience in applied analytics to plant breeding supporting the development of commercial varieties and/or hybrids
- Strong record on deploying software and algorithms to support plant breeding processes
- Required excellent knowledge of plant breeding
- Required proficiency in programming with R statistical software
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
